Mississauga, ON (August 14, 2018) – Financial services and the insurance business are described by Great Places to Work® as “an industry in transition [where] customers expect 24/7 mobile applications but are not yet willing to let go of in-person services.” When asked how their companies can tackle challenges such as replacing legacy systems and addressing cybersecurity, CEOs in the industry agree — a strong company culture is one of the best ways to navigate change and create a competitive advantage.

At Knowledge First Financial, we are committed to creating a strong company culture that includes compensation and benefits, meaningful rewards and recognition programs, and other employee-focused initiatives. The goal is to foster environment where employees are motivated and empowered to do their best at work every day.

In an effort to continually improve its employment brand, the company looked externally to measure its workplace culture against the best of the best, and sought to achieve certification as a Great Place to Work®. With the Great Place to Work® certification, Knowledge First Financial was successfully considered to be on the 2018 Financial Services and Insurance List.

Great Place to Work® certification is based on direct feedback from employees, who participate in an extensive and anonymous survey about the workplace experience. Knowledge First Financial ranked equal to or above the average results for other Canadian Financial Services & Insurance companies in all five Trust Index© Dimensions – credibility, respect, fairness, price and camaraderie – and earned an overall score of 85%.

In January 2018, Knowledge First Financial acquired Heritage Education Funds to pursue the shared goal of helping families maximize their education savings through Registered Education Savings Plans. Since then, the strong work culture has been the enabling force to bring two companies successfully together as one.

“While the company sets the vision,” said George Hopkinson, President & CEO. “It is the employees that create exuberance, passion and a teamwork toward a common goal making Knowledge First a great place to work. Thank you and congratulations to each and every employee for making a difference in our work place.”
